Membership 300 (As of 2017) Established 1975 Chairperson Tamotsu (Thomas) Okuma Organization Overview ・The president is selected by both ways elections and by recommendation/appointment. The term is 5 years.
・There are 2 vice-presidents, 1 secretary, 1 treasurer and 7 councils. There are also positions for event commissioner, adviser and audit. (2017-2018).
From 2017, the number for vice-president changed to 2 people.
・The objectives of the activities are:
1. Improvement of the spiritual culture by mutual cooperation and friendship among the members;
2. Contribute to the community in Canada through exchanges with various cultural organizations.
・It has been promoting the spiritual and cultural development and friendship of its members as wells as contributing to the Canadian community by building friendly relationships with multi-cultural organizations in Canada.
・Visits of important dignitaries from the political and business circles of Okinawa have increased, being the Yuaikai their POC in Canada. Together with Toronto Kyuyo Kai, they constitute the framework for integrating the Kenjinkais in Canada.Affiliated Org. The recipients of OPG scholarship are selected by recommendation of the Yuaikai. The Yuaikai promotes this program to encourage the learning of Okinawan culture.Exchange with other region Yes
