The word “shima” refers to a small landmass surrounded by water, but it can also mean a specific region or locality. This project features songs rooted in traditional local cultures and regions, performed by singers who have established their own unique worlds with folk songs as their foundation. The concert will feature both Japanese and non-Japanese performers coming together to enjoy music, with Peter Barakan serving as a guide.
