Membership Approx. 100 （As of 2017） Established 1983 （On this time survey it states 1986） Chairperson Alcides Hideki Takara (3 year term） Organization Overview ・Chairperson is selected by recommendation. Term period is 3 years.
・There are positions for vice-chairperson, manager, treasurer and adviser. There are no committees or groups.
・The first chairperson was Mr. Masamichi Nakasone.
・The objectives for establishments were:
1. To promote friendship among the members.
2. To keep close contact with the mother prefecture.
・The Okinawan Association of Mexico was dissolved once due to disputes of leadership with the Japanese Association. However, due to the efforts of Mr. Seiki Uehara (Director General, JICA Mexico) and other people, it resumed its activities.

Description ・As a commemorative event for the 120 anniversary of the Japanese immigration, the Okinawa Festival was held. At this event, Okinawa food was sold, and the Okinawa Kabuki Group Chura performed there
・To celebrate the 400 years of the Mexico-Japan Friendship, the Japan Festival was held. At this event, Eisa, Okinawan dance, Karate and other Okinawan traditional and cultural representations were introduced deepening the relationship between the two countries.
・Fishing is very popular among its members as a recreational activity.Own scholarship program Yes
