Organization Overview・Started with 9 members and now (as of 2017) its membership has increased to more than 20 people.
・Establishment objective is to deepen friendship among people related to Okinawa. Furthermore, to promote mutal understanding between the people of India and Okinawa by spreading Okinawan culture in India, and providing cultural information of India to Okinawa.
・Most of the members are employees stationed in India. They are mainly living in Delhi and Gurgaon, but there also members in Chennai in the southern area of India. Members living in the Delhi area meet once a month.
・Since many Japanese companies have expanded their business to India, many other fellow associations and clubs from other prefectures of Japan were already formed and are very active.

India Okinawa kenjinkai Activity contents
Description・Cooperate on a voluntary basis in the events held by the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in New Delhi.
・Held a celebratory event "90-day Countdown to the Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival" (At Delhi on July 29).
・Holds a regular member gathering (For the FY2017 it was held once a month in the Delhi area)
・As traditional performing arts activities, they have taken part in the program Sanshin-no-hi (Sanshin's Day) held by RBC, taught Eisa dance to Delhi Japanese school students, and other activities.
・In February 2017, the India Kenjinkai members visited Bangkok and hosted a get-together with the Thai Okinawa Kenjinkai members.
