10. Multicultural Coexistence Promotion Research Program
The programs goal is to promote mutual understanding and a pleasant coexistence between Okinawans and foreign residents. It supports the independence of foreign residents living in Japan who face challenges due to Japanese comprehension and cultural differences. The program helps create an improved environment for foreign residents living in the area. The program conducted a model project based on the Okinawa multicultural symbiosis guidelines from the Okinawa Prefecture Multicultural Symbiosis Promotion Study Program Report in 2014. By sharing the results and issues with municipalities and related organizations, municipalities can live in harmony with the aim to create an environment for these multicultural symbiosis related programs to be easily be implemented by the municipality.
