If you are a descendant of Okinawan immigrants residing in Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Bolivia, you can study with us in Okinawa as an auditing or research student! No Japanese ability is required because you can choose to study in English. There is also no age limit for applying!

The University of the Ryukyus is a national university located in Japan's southernmost prefecture of Okinawa. Taking full advantage of our unique geographical, historical and cultural features, the University has nurtured distinct areas of education and research in sub-tropical agriculture, marine science and island-based medicine, as well as island sustainability and Okinawan studies.
