Self-introduction

Nice to meet you. My name is Lucas Hideki Kinjo. I am a 4^th generation Okinawan-Brazilian and I am 25 years old. I came from Brazil.

Hometown

I play Okinawan folk music in Brazil. I have been doing it since I was 14 years old. Now I teach Okinawan folk music in Brazil.

Current Activities

I am currently studying at the Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts. I am studying classical Ryukyu music in the Ryukyu performing arts course. I am learning sanshin, kucho, flute, and taiko used in the classical music.

Future Outlook

I want to teach the future generations Okinawan performing arts when I return to Brazil.

A Message to the Youth

I hope all the future generations of Uchinanchu do their best to learn Japanese.
